I signed up to CENTR as part of covid offer and forgot to turn off auto-renew. I barely used the app during the first year and had forgotten about it until I was charged another year's subscription on covert renewal. When I contacted CENTR their customer service was unhelpful and refused to offer a refund. The app itself was mediocre so I stopped using it after a month. There are much better apps available so my advice is to avoid.
I wonder if poster-man Chris Hemsworth knows the low morals the company holds?
I enjoyed using Centr for a few months but then I got injured and didn’t use it for months. Then suddenly I’m charge a renewal fee. They could easily send out renewal warnings (especially when they have the data to see that you haven’t accessed it for months!).. but they’d rather seize the opportunity to take your cash on the sly! They even asked me for a medical letter to prove my injury before they will consider refunding it. It’s not worth the stress and effort, so I’ll hope my credit card company can sort it for me instead. Terrible customer service. Will never use again because of this.
Very poor. Same issue and unethical behaviour described by others here as regards the auto renew. Total b*stards. In general I found the workouts and plans to be really reliant on reordering and repackaging the same workouts and sequences just in a different order. Yawn. All while trying to put forth the image of being there for you and mindfulness yadda yadda. Thieves.
Warning!!! Renews without any notice. They suck you in with a free trial and then charge you without warning a year later with no notice. Then they refuse to refund. Terrible customer service, they refuse to listen to reasons and reply on fine print red tape to scam you out of your money. Very unethical
I can't recommend Centr. I signed up a few weeks ago but figured out neither the food recipes nor the equipment is for me. After a few days I stopped using the app. Not even a week later, after my subscription got accidentally turned into a payed account, I asked if there is a refund possible. Although it is in their right to notify me about the conditions and the contract, I simply can't recommend a company or service with that attitude - especially since there is not even a partial refund possible.
Absolute gem of an app! Best value for money fitness app I have ever come across. Have been going to the gym for decades and will never buy a gym membership again. There are loads of sessions and you can choose difficulty, equipment and style so easily. Just in case you are one of these people who don’t know how a subscription works, they will charge you for the product. They are very clear about all this at the sign up stage and if you’re looking at the other reviews and tossing up because it’s a bunch of people whining about the free trial, go check it out yourself. Nothing could be more straightforward. It’s great value even if it were just for the cooking recipes that come with it, but it’s not, you’re getting a great bunch of trainers who cover everything from MMA to yoga. Highly recommend!
Terrible customer service. Their website FAQ says they will reply within 24 hrs. Expect a week. I forgot to turn off auto renew because I was busy getting laid off from my job and trying to survive through a pandemic. When I implored them to help, they said too bad I should have read the terms and conditions. So, don't expect kindness from this company. Since I'm being forced to subscribe, I figured I should use it, but the app crashes randomly. Such garbage.
A scam. Very poor quality of the app and content is subpar. The price tag is too high, there are better alternatives like Freeletics, which also has 100 times better customer service.
I went to use the trial version, but ended up being charged when it expired without any notification and there is no option to turn notifications on (eg email 3 days before charging). When I reached out to the customer service I got a template answer that their are not even going to consider refunding me.
All in all, AVOID AVOID AVOID - even the trial.
Another subscription service trying to steal your money but trying to do it during lockdown and pretending they care about your well being. I got conned by their message of trying to help people during lockdown and signed up to try it out. I've got two torn ACLs so have to be specific about what exercises I do. I would also expect a reminder that the service is about to charge a subscription, and now they won't return my money. This is theft as I do not want this service. Nor can I even use it. Completely avoid.
I fell for the hype last year and signed up for Centr, paying a years subscription.
I found the recipes were a tad pretentious and cost a bit more than I could afford. I don't recall what equipment requirements there were.
After a month or so I decided it wasnt for me and didnt really bother logging in again and forgot about it.
It never occurred to me that the people associated with this company would stoop to taking money from my account. Unfortunately thats what I found last month when they debited by account for another year.
Reading through their terms and conditions, it seems clear that this is the companies business model.
If you do feel the need to sign up to this company, Id suggest removing your bank details as soon as you sign up.
